Cool Job Opening with Tom Joyner Morning Show - Feature Producer

Position: Feature Producer, TJMS Overview: Dallas-headquartered, Broadcasting & Internet company targeting the African-American community, parent company of The Tom Joyner Morning Show & BlackAmericaWeb, is seeking a Feature Producer to produce special features for the Tom Joyner Morning Show. Responsibilities: • Provide research data on proposed guests for morning show and to include on BlackAmericaWeb website. • Write and oversee the production of the daily “Little Known Black History Facts”. • Write and oversee the production of the weekly “Christmas Wish Feature”. • Write and oversee production of the “Thursday Morning Mama” feature. • Write and oversee production of the “Real Fathers Real Men” feature. • Plan and oversee production of the “TJMS at It’s Best” shows. • Provide writing responsibilities for special projects such as short form “Little Known Black History Fact” for Sky Shows. • Provide writing responsibilities for special projects such as short form newscasts and short packages for morning show broadcast and/or BlackAmericaWeb.com website. • Provide special project production assistance for post event video presentations including The Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage and Family Reunion. • Perform writing and production projects assigned by Tom Joyner. Requirements: • Extremely organized and able to effectively prioritize tasks while being attentive to details. • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines. • High level of creativity and ability to develop show concepts. • Strong communication skills both verbal and written. • High level of proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word & Excel and the Internet. • Excellent research skills. • Strong technical skills to include specific programming software & Microsoft applications. • Must have flexibility to travel. • Familiarity with the Reach Media/Tom Joyner Morning Show brand. Experience/Education: • BA/BS college level degree. • Experience with basic audio editing equipment. • Knowledge of basic remote recording and sound editing equipment. • 2+ years working as a producer in the broadcasting industry. Urban broadcasting experience preferred.
